Key Resources for Caregivers
- Liberty Alzheimer’s Partnership
The Liberty Alzheimer’s Partnership offers educational events, support groups, and resources specifically for caregivers for loved ones living with dementia. - Deaconess Abundant Life Services
Deaconess Abundant Life Services (DALS) offers home health services that support people living with dementia, allowing them to remain in their homes longer. These services include personal care and companionship. - Geriatric Care Managers
Geriatric care managers assess the needs of seniors and help families create a care plan. Care managers act as advocates for the elderly and help families navigate the complex systems of healthcare and senior services. - Legal Resources
Elder law attorneys can help caregivers with establishing power of attorney, guardianship, wills, and trusts. Having these legal arrangements in place ensures that caregivers can make decisions on behalf of their loved ones and protect their interests whenever necessary. - Caregiver Support Groups
Participating in caregiver support groups allows caregivers to share experiences, discuss challenges, and receive advice from others who are in similar situations. Support groups may be available through local Alzheimer’s associations, senior centers, or healthcare providers.
